Canada's Fast Track Skilled Worker Immigration Program
Skilled foreign workers can now move to Canada quicker and begin working in Canada sooner.
In 2008, the Canadian government introduced a new "fast-track" program for skilled workers. The Federal Skilled Worker category allows foreign workers to move to Canada and to start working quickly.
The revised Federal Skilled Worker Class covers certain occupations, allowing skilled workers within these occupations to receive their permanent residence status in less than one year. You can also apply under this category for permanent residence in Canada if you have a Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) approved job offer with a Canadian employer, or if you have been residing in Canada for at least 12 months.
Red Seal Immigration assists foreign skilled workers with immigration so you can join the Canadian workforce faster and have confidence in the accuracy and completeness of your application.
Please visit Red Seal Immigration's free Assessment page to find out if you qualify for a skilled worker immigration category.
The Federal Skilled Worker program covers numerous occupations - see the list of skilled worker occupations and descriptions below.
These skilled worker positions were fast tracked after employers established with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) that they have been struggling to find new employees for open positions. With the need for temporary foreign workers in these occupations recognized by be CIC, qualified foreign skilled workers now have the opportunity to become a permanent resident without a job offer.
