Extend or Apply for a Visitor Permit
Most visitors are allowed to stay in Canada for six months. You may be able to apply for an extension of your visitor status once you are in Canada.Visitor visa processing times vary greatly depending on the country you apply from. Visitor visa processing times for people in North America can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months and may be longer if an interview is required. Overseas processing times for a visitor visa can be as little as one day.
It is always recommended that you give yourself extra time for the processing of the visa as times vary depending the volume of applications being received.
