Temporary Residence in Canada

There are temporary resident permits and visas for workers, students, and visitors.

A visa is what allows you to enter Canada.  There are multiple entry and single entry visas.  The processing times and requirements for a visa vary depending on the country you are applying from.   Some countries are visa exempt and depending on your nationality, you may not require a visa to enter or re-enter Canada.

A permit is what allows you to stay in Canada to work, study or travel.
